Filtering for Comments Excel makes it easy to filter a data table based on various values in that table. It isn’t so easy to filter according to whether a cell contains comments or not. Here’s a few ways you can make the filtering easier. Microsoft Excel versions: 97 | 2000 | 2002 | 2003 | 2007

Recalculating when Filtering Filter a large worksheet, and Excel will helpfully recalculate every time you apply a different filter. This can get bothersome, particularly if the recalculation stops you from doing what you want to do in the worksheet. Removing Duplicates Based on a Partial Match If you have a set of addresses in a worksheet, you may have some addresses that partially match other ones. For instance, a set of addresses where the only differences are the apartment or suite number. This tip explores different ways you can remove or identify duplicates in the addresses based on only a part of that address, such as the street name and number.
