Turning Off AutoFiltering

This tip applies to Excel 97, 2000, 2002, and 2003

Using the AutoFilter feature of Excel is a powerful way to review the data in a long list. At some point you may want to undo AutoFiltering. To undo filtering, you have these options:

  • Turn off the AutoFilter feature by selecting Filter from the Data menu and then AutoFilter from the submenu.
  • Reset all filtering criteria by selecting Filter from the Data menu and then Show All from the submenu.
  • Select the pull-down arrow for a field that has criteria set, and then choose the (All) option.
