Moving a Worksheet to Another Workbook
Summary: It is easy to move an Excel worksheet to another workbook following this tip. (This tip works with Microsoft Excel 97, Excel 2000, Excel 2002, and Excel 2003.)As you develop more and more Excel workbooks, you may have the necessity of moving a worksheet from one workbook to another. You can do this by following these steps:
- Make sure both the source and target workbooks are open.
- Display the worksheet you want to move.
- Choose Move or Copy Sheet from the Edit menu. This displays the Move or Copy dialog box. (Click here to see a related figure.)
- Using the To Book pull-down list, choose the name of the target workbook. The list of worksheets in the Before Sheet list will change to reflect the workbook you selected.
- In the Before Sheet list, select the worksheet that should come after the worksheet you selected in step 2.
- Click on OK. The worksheet is moved.
