Entering Info into Multiple Cells

Summary: Want to make an entry of the same value into a group of selected cells? It's easy to do with just one small change in how you now enter your data. (This tip works with Microsoft Excel 97, Excel 2000, Excel 2002, Excel 2003, and Excel 2007.)

It is not unusual to enter the same information in multiple cells in Excel. If you have such a need, you might want to try this little gem:

Select all the cells that will contain the information. If the cells are not contiguous, hold down the Ctrl key as you click on each cell in the set.
Type the information you want to enter, but don't press Enter.
Press Ctrl+Enter.

Presto! Every cell you selected contains the same information.
