Large Toolbar Buttons

Summary: You can configure Excel so that it uses large toolbar buttons on its toolbars. This can make the interface easier to use if the buttons normally appear too small for your tastes. (This tip works with Microsoft Excel 97, Excel 2000, Excel 2002, and Excel 2003.)

If the toolbar buttons on your screen are too small for your liking, you may want to make them larger. Excel makes this easy--all you need to do is follow these steps:

  1. Choose the Customize option from the Tools menu.
  2. Display the Options tab. (Click here to see a related figure.)
  3. Make sure the Large Icons check box is selected.
  4. Click on the Close button.

You should have noticed that your toolbar buttons were much larger right after step 3. This action also affects the size of toolbar buttons in all your other Microsoft Office applications, as well.
